The Fate of Alien RPG

After completing our Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) campaign – Descent to Avernus – we will most likely be shifting over to a new survival horror system – Alien RPG. We usually take a sci-fi break every so often between D&D games which is always welcomed. In this post I will offer a quick analysis of the system and provide a way to use Fate’s amazing storytelling tools to help drive and maintain the game driving forward and to increase the depth of storytelling.

The Fate of Icarus, The Dark Matter-Mandalorian Inspired Star Wars Campaign

Introduction So, our RPG group is about to finish Balder’s Gate: Descent into Avernus where Zazzu, my Female Tiefling Warlock who now wields Zariel’s sword, will hopefully be able to redeem the fallen angel, Zariel, and bring her back to the the light. Here is my post on the starting of this campaign if you […]

New D&D Campaign – Descent into Avernus

We finished Dragon Heist/Dungeon of the Mad Mage 6 weeks ago (3 sessions ago because we play every 2 weeks) and we excitedly moved on to Balder’s Gate: Descent to Avernus. Currently, we just finished our second session of Descent into Avernus and our party makeup seems just a little weird to me, but that will be fun… I think! =)

Arthur Fleck Laughing Despairingly on a Bus (Joker 2019)

Themes, Messages, and Symbolism from the Movie “Joker”

I just saw the movie (Wed, 9 Oct 2019) and then was able to watch the movie again a week later (Wed, 16 Oct 2009) with my mother, and was able to take some quick notes to help fill out my rather large post. I really, really wish I had a DVD of this or was able to stream this so I can do this movie and post some real justice! There is so much more I am missing, but alas!

Carl Sagan and His Famous ‘Pale Blue Dot’ Speech

Introduction Background While watching a video or two from Neil deGrasse Tyson (one of which I recently posted: Video: Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Keynote Speech for the 28th National Space Symposium (2012)) I saw a lecture from Carl Sagan in the sidebar, so I decided to give the original Cosmos narrator’s wisdom a spin. I was […]

Video: Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Keynote Speech for the 28th National Space Symposium (2012)

Introduction I have just found this great video of an understandably irate Neil deGrasse Tyson (NdT) speaking the truth in this amazing video from 2012! The power of the innovation and inspiration gained from the NASA and our space program and its accomplishments is worth far more than the paltry 1 cent for each tax […]

Read: The Inner Level: How More Equal Societies Reduce Stress, Restore Sanity and Improve Everyone’s Well-Being

Introduction The Inner Level: How More Equal Societies Reduce Stress, Restore Sanity and Improve Everyone’s Well-Being(Pickett and Wilkinson, 2019) is an amazing book and is written as a follow up to their previous work Read: The Spirit Level: Why Greater Equality Makes Societies Stronger (Pickett and Wilkinson, 2009) which was also an amazing read. I […]

New Page: Declaration of the Unified Rights of Humanity (DURH)

This is something I have posted and then deleted, much like my page The 7 Philosophical Pillars for Peace within Humanity. As with the previous document, I find myself driven to post this again so that I have it here so I can reference and work on it, and so that others can benefit from […]

Halaster Blackcloak - Dungeon of the Mad Mage

On to Dungeon of the Mad Mage!!

Hurriedly, we finished Dragon Heist on Sunday (Nov 18) by compressing the last part of the adventure so we could finish the adventure and hurry to the reward. We are a more honorable group who worked mostly with the Harpers (4 people) and the Lords Alliance (2 people), I think, so we gave the money back from the heist to the coffers of Waterdeep at Laerel Silverhand’s request.
